Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of SmartPDF (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
1. The Service
SmartPDF is a free, browser-based tool for adding text, highlights, drawings, shapes, images and drawn signatures to PDF files. Documents are processed on your device. Features may change, and we may suspend or discontinue the Service at any time.
2. Your documents and responsibilities
- You keep all rights to the documents you open and the content you add. We don’t receive them.
- You must have the right to view and modify the documents you edit, and you are responsible for how you use the result — including signatures you place and documents you share.
- Don’t use the Service to forge signatures, falsify documents, infringe others’ rights, or for any unlawful purpose.
- Keep your own copy of important files. Always check the downloaded PDF before relying on it.
3. Acceptable use of the website
Don’t interfere with the website, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape it at a scale that burdens it, or generate artificial ad impressions or clicks.
4. Advertising
The Service may display third-party advertising, governed by those providers’ terms and policies. See our cookie and advertising information.
5. Intellectual property
The SmartPDF name, logo, website design and text are protected. The editor uses open-source components (including PDF.js and pdf-lib) under their respective licenses.
6. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t guarantee that every PDF can be opened or edited, that output will meet any legal or technical requirement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. See the disclaimer.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, documents, profits or business arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes are published means you accept the updated terms.
